Job summary

Hawthorne-Health seeks a mobile echocardiography technologist to perform visits at patient homes across the Cincinnati area. You will operate portable ultrasound devices to capture cardiology-quality images for adults and children.

You will explain procedures, obtain informed cooperation, and ensure images are labeled and prepared for review. The role requires RDCS/RCS credentials, AE where applicable, BLS, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in both adult and pediatric patients.
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; proficient with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in field settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic field environments.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

• Travel to patient homes to conduct visits

• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment

• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant

• Perform echocardiograms per protocol on adult and pediatric patients

• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging

• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines

• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review

• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments

• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards

• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment

WHAT YOU BRING | REQUIREMENTS

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI.

• Certification in Adult (AE) is required, Pediatric (PE) certification not required but a plus

• 3+ years of recent sonography experience, in both adult and pediatrics

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally/regionally

• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet required; Tech savvy and self sufficient with digital tools

• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings

• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
