Job summary

Powerback is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our mobile outpatient therapy team serving Avon, Simsbury, and West Hartford, CT. You will supervise staff, assess patients, design plans of care, and coordinate with physicians to deliver high-quality rehab across settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel per licensure and standards.
• Adhere to patient treatment schedules; complete clinical and billing documentation; attend related meetings.
• Attend patient care and staffing conferences; contribute to team decisions.
• Make referrals to other disciplines to address patient needs.
• Consult with rehabilitation team and physicians to select appropriate therapies.
• Adapt plan of care to individual patient needs.
• Maintain safe environment and remove hazards.
• Order and manage supplies and equipment.
• Perform equipment maintenance and repairs reporting.
• Place patient service first with compassionate care for patient/family needs.
• Conduct screens/assessments; analyze findings; design and implement treatment plans; document progress; address multiple domains (cognition, motor, ADLs, etc.).
• Design/fabricate adaptive devices; train in use of orthotics/prosthetics.
• Select activities aligned with patient capacity and interests.
• Instruct patients in functional activities and monitor progress; adjust goals.
• Reexamine as needed to progress treatment; perform related duties as required.
