Job summary

Vision To Learn is seeking a full-time Oregon Optician to join our mobile clinic team. You will conduct school-based eye screenings, measure and fit frames, and dispense glasses to student patients during the school day, starting in December.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. As a mission-driven nonprofit, you’ll work with a dedicated team to remove vision barriers for underserved children, following health and safety protocols and contributing

Qualifications

• Optician diploma or equivalent; COA/COT/NCLE/ABO certification preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; GPS familiarity for Klamath Falls area.
• Experience with children and diverse individuals; background checks and drug test required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office; ability to learn EHR/reporting and PM systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mobile eye clinic operations and scheduling.
• Take measurements and fit frames per prescriptions.
• Assist patients with frame selection for optimal fit.
• Complete daily reports and meet deadlines.
• Make follow-up calls to patient caregivers for feedback.
• Conduct vision screenings using Welch Allyn Spot Check Vision Screener.
• Dispense glasses to student patients.
• Follow Vision To Learn health and safety protocols.
• May include roll on-roll off lane eye exams.
• Maintain driver safety and vehicle operations.
• Setup clinic, manage inventory, and ensure paperwork efficiency.
• Load, fuel, and maintain vehicle; keep areas clean.
• Setup/breakdown inside lane operation as needed.
