Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Clinical Staff Specialist for our mobile unit in Raleigh, NC. This full-time role runs Tues–Fri, 7am–5pm, assisting MRI/PET technologists and ensuring patient care and safety during scans.

The position requires EMT/Paramedic/RN credentials, CPR, IV proficiency, and the ability to work at multiple locations. Benefits include comprehensive medical plans, 401(k), paid holidays, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Basic EMT, Licensed Paramedic (EMTP), Registered Technologist or Registered Nurse required.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license if applicable.
• IV proficiency required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist MRI or PET Technologist with patient care and documentation.
• Help patients enter/exit facilities with empathy and courtesy.
• Maintain infection control procedures and accurate patient records.
• Set IVs for contrast or radiopharmaceutical injections.
• Monitor patients during scans and record data in the system.
• Support preparation and availability of supplies and materials.
