Akumin is hiring a Clinical Staff Specialist for our Raleigh, NC mobile unit. The role involves assisting MRI/PET technologists, ensuring patient safety, and managing records. Expect 7am–5pm shifts Tue–Fri with travel between locations as needed.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and basic clinical skills. An EMT/Paramedic/RN background is preferred; strong customer service and organizational abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Basic CPR certification is required.
• EMT/Paramedic or RN licensure preferred; EMT/Paramedic/RN may be required explored by role.

Responsibilities

• Assist MRI or PET Technologist with patient care and documentation.
• Support patient flow and provide empathetic patient and family interaction.
• Maintain patient care standards and accurate recording of data.
• Prepare for injections by setting up IVs and gathering supplies.
• Monitor patients during scans and enter data into the system.

We are currently hiring for a Clinical Staff Specialist at our mobile unit in Raleigh, NC. This will be a full time position Tues-Friday from 7am - 5pm.

TheClinical Staff Specialistisresponsible for peripheral duties pertaining to patient MRI/PET scanning.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assists MRI or PET Technologist with patient care including screening and other documents related to the patient’s medical record.
• Assists patient in entering and exiting facilities; Assists patient and family members with concern and empathy, respecting confidentiality and communicating with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Maintains acceptable standards of patient care. Maintains standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting.
• Sets patient IVs in preparation for injection of contrast or radiopharmaceutical.Arranges to have needed supplies and materials available.
• Monitors patients during scans, enters scan data into the computer.
• Records patient histories, obtains waived lab test results using glucometer or
• Supports and enforces infection control procedures.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• A basic level EMT, Licensed Paramedic (EMTP), Registered Technologist or Registered Nurse required.
• CPR certification required.
• As applicable, valid driver’s license.
• IV proficiency required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Local travel may be required.
