Job summary

Appalachian Mountain Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the expansion of our Mobile Medical Team. The role supports providers, manages EHR tasks, and coordinates patient care across multiple Western North Carolina sites.

Requirements include at least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience and (preferred) certification. This in-person position offers a full-time schedule with diverse patient outreach and immunization duties.

Qualifications

• Background check and drug screen required.
• Medical Assistant certification required or preferred.
• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
• In-person work location at multiple Western North Carolina sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers.
• Maintain and coordinate EHR and patient activities.
• Collect specimens for testing and administer medications/immunizations.
• Conduct patient intake and exit interviews.
• Use data/patient registries to outreach for preventive care and follow-up.
• Assist with referrals, tracking and follow-up.
• Triaging phone calls and responding to patient requests.
