Job summary

The Salvation Army in Detroit, MI seeks a Bed and Bread Driver to operate a truck on a fixed route, load and serve meals, and assist with donated items. You will perform routine vehicle checks and ensure cleanliness at the end of each route, while maintaining a log of persons served and adhering to safety rules.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, US work authorization, and a Michigan Chauffeur license with MDOT physical. Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck on designated route according to schedule.
• Load and unload meals on the truck.
• Prepare and respectfully serve meals to individuals at stops.
• Pick up and/or deliver donated items using box trucks as assigned.
• Transport items needing the use of box truck.
• Complete daily maintenance check of truck and report problems.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck on route and after route completion.
• Log the number of persons served.
• Safely operate vehicle and follow all road rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
