Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Bed and Bread Driver to operate a box truck on a fixed route, load and serve meals, and assist with donated items. The role requires a valid Michigan Chauffeur license, Safe From Harm training, TB test, and police clearance, plus authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip vehicle maintenance, ensuring cleanliness, recording meals served, and following schedule.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to get along with people, dependable, and good communication.
TB Test and police clearance required; authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Drive truck on route making predetermined stops according to schedule.
Load and unload meals on the truck.
Prepare and respectfully serve meals to all present at the stops.
Pick up and/or delivery of donated items using box trucks as assigned.
Transport items needing the use of box truck.
Complete daily maintenance check of truck and report problems to designated person.
Maintain cleanliness of truck while on route and thoroughly clean truck after route is completed.
Assist in picking up donated items.
Log the number of persons served.
Safely operate vehicle and follow all ruling road.
Perform other duties as assigned
