Job summary

The Salvation Army in Detroit, MI is seeking a Bed and Bread Driver to operate a truck on a designated route, load and serve meals, and handle donated items. The role includes safety checks, maintenance, and logging meals served, with responsibilities across delivery and community service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• TB test and police clearance required.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck on route making predetermined stops according to schedule.
• Load and unload meals on the truck.
• Prepare and respectfully serve meals to all present at the stops.
• Pick up and/or delivery of donated items using box trucks as assigned.
• Transport items needing the use of box truck.
• Complete daily maintenance check of truck and report problems to designated person.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck while on route and thoroughly clean truck after route is completed.
• Assist in picking up donated items.
• Log the number of persons served.
• Safely operate vehicle and follow all ruling road.
• Perform other duties as assigned
