The Mobile Maintenance (MM) Technician performs trailer preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and trailer body damage repairs at customer yards, drop yards, and distribution centers.

Essential Job Duties/Functions

• Perform PM inspections
• Grease trucks and trailers
• Perform tire services
• Electrical, brake, wheel end/seal evaluation and repair
• Minor repairs
• Trailer body work, including panel, post, cross rail, side rail, and roof replacements
• Complex welding, including aluminum rail repairs and brake chamber brackets
• Conduct CSA/DOT inspections according to regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile maintenance vehicle and tools
• Manage parts and tire inventory
• Complete work orders with detailed information and photos as needed
• Ensure customer satisfaction and safety compliance
• Stay current with LMS training and safety policies
• Provide friendly customer service
• Report to work on schedule

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

• At least two years of diesel technician experience
• TIAT Tire Service Certification
• DOT Medical Card
• Completion of Boss Truck Shops Tech I and II training
• OSHA Skills Demonstration
• Ability to attend HVAC, Electrical, and DOT training
• Ability to obtain ASE, DOT, TIA certifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and insurable to drive
• Skilled in welding
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, nights
• Reliable transportation and phone
• Ability to communicate in English
• Provide friendly, courteous customer service
• Work cooperatively with team members

Physical Requirements

Must occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs., frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear; occasionally sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
