Job summary

You will supervise staff, drive the mobile library vehicle, assist patrons, coordinate programs, maintain records, and ensure safe, compliant operations with internal controls. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Five years paraprofessional library experience, including two years in lead/supervisory roles.
• Direct supervision and coordination of library staff and activities.
• Ability to train and evaluate lower-level staff.
• Strong customer service and group communication skills.
• Valid California Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of a very small library or mobile program and supervise staff.
• Drive mobile library vehicles and coordinate routes.
• Assist patrons with reference, registrations, and access to materials.
• Coordinate library programs and presentations for diverse groups.
• Hire, train, and evaluate subordinate staff.
• Maintain circulation records and prepare periodic reports.
• Ensure proper handling of fines, fees, and cash controls.
• Maintain a safe, clean library environment.
