Job summary

County of Ventura seeks a Supervising Library Technician to oversee a small library or mobile program. You will supervise paraprofessionals, manage scheduling, and coordinate programs for all ages.

You will also handle cataloging tasks, prepare reports, ensure cash handling procedures, and lead efforts to maintain facilities in a safe, clean condition. Evening/weekend availability and travel between sites are required.

Qualifications

• Five years of paraprofessional library experience, two years in lead/supervisory roles.
• Graduate coursework in library science may substitute for one year of experience.
• Must have a valid California Class C Driver License.
• Willingness to travel between library locations and work evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise library paraprofessional and clerical staff.
• Instruct, coordinate, schedule, supervise and evaluate staff.
• Handle library programs, tours and youth presentations.
• Manage library records, circulation and stock reports.
• Assist with cataloging and selection using electronic resources.
• Oversee cash handling, fines, banking and internal controls.
• Ensure safe, clean, and orderly library facilities.
