Job summary

Ventura County is seeking a Supervising Library Technician to lead a small community library or mobile library program. You will supervise paraprofessional and clerical staff, interpret policies, and ensure excellent service to patrons of all ages.

The role requires strong customer service, instructional ability, and the capacity to manage library programs, records, and outreach while maintaining safe, clean facilities. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Five years of paraprofessional library experience, with two years in lead or supervisory roles.
• Graduate coursework in library science, public administration, or related field may substitute for one year of library work experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of a very small community library or mobile library program and supervise assigned staff.
• Interpret library policies to the public and staff; coordinate, schedule and evaluate work.
• Provide reference assistance, support registration, and guide use of library resources.
