Job summary

JLL is seeking an HVAC Technician in Saint Petersburg, FL to maintain and repair HVAC systems across client sites. You will handle chillers, AHUs, boilers, and related equipment, perform calibrations, and monitor control systems to ensure safe, compliant operation.

The role requires strong problem-solving, attention to safety, and the ability to work with external vendors. Travel to various sites and an on-site work environment are expected.

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 certification required for handling refrigerants.
• Fall Protection certification required.
• Lifting Equipment certification if operating powered industrial trucks.
• Confined Space certification where applicable.
• Evidence of State or local HVAC licensing as required.
• Demonstrated experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and equipment including chillers, AHUs, condensers, exhaust fans, boilers and hot water pumps.
• Conduct cleaning, inspection, calibration, and parts replacement to maintain optimum HVAC performance.
• Record readings and adjust controls to ensure proper operation.
• Manage Building Automation/Control Systems for efficient operations.
• Adhere to safety policies for hazardous materials and maintain a clean workplace.
• Monitor inventory of tools and instruments; perform periodic checks.
• Oversee external contractors' work quality and pricing; coordinate with vendors.
• Travel to assigned sites with potential overnight stays as required.
• Support continuous improvement by reviewing client service requests and vendor performance.

Job description

Summary: The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, repair, and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with applicable standards. This role requires technical expertise, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and associated equipment, including chillers, air handling units, condensers, exhaust fans, boilers, and hot water pumps.
• Execute equipment maintenance including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems at optimum performance levels.
• Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to manage Building Automation / Control Systems to ensure effective / efficient operations within the HVAC systems that this role will support.
• Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
• Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure excellent execution of maintenance work.
• Requires travel to assigned sites/locations, including overnight travel as needed based on business demand.
