Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Earth City, MO is seeking a High Voltage Test Engineer to join our Transformer Services US engineering team. You will operate a mobile HV test trailer and perform a range of tests at customer sites, ensuring the reliability and safety of our transformers with travel between 40% and 60%.

The role requires a engineering degree with 5+ years transformer experience, knowledge of IEEE/IEC/NEMA standards, and strong reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years HV transformer testing.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and reporting.
• Willingness to travel up to 60%.
• Ability to work with customers and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
• Perform HV tests: applied, induced voltage, PD localization, temperature rise.
• Conduct LV testing: winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, PF.
• Analyze test results and calibrate equipment.
• Communicate with customers and prepare detailed reports.
• Create test plans to support proposals.
• Provide technical support to field crews and review oil test results.
• Uphold safety and integrity in all actions.
