Job summary

Hitachi Energy based in Earth City, Missouri seeks an experienced High Voltage Test Engineer to support transformer services by conducting high voltage tests at customer sites and assisting field operations. You will operate mobile HV test equipment, analyze results, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with customers and engineering teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with five+ years of transformer testing experience, familiarity with IEEE/IEC/NEMA

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; five+ years transformer experience, or ten+ years combined transformer experience.
Experience performing transformer testing and supporting field service operations.
Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and NEMA industry standards.
Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and preparing technical reports.
Hands-on experience with low-voltage tests such as winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, and power factor preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
Perform applied voltage, induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise testing.
Investigate potential sources of partial discharge and develop corrective action plans.
Analyze electrical test data and oil DGA results.
Calibrate testing equipment.
Maintain electrical and electronic components of the mobile test system.
Prepare technical test reports and test plans in support of proposal activities.
Provide technical support to field crews and communicate with customers.
