Job summary

HK Solutions Group seeks a Mobile Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment across Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; or Kansas City, MO. You will travel to job sites, yards, and staging areas, performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure minimal downtime.

The role requires reading hydraulic and electrical schematics, hands-on welding and fabrication, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of heavy equipment, commercial truck, or industrial equipment repair experience.
• Diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults from symptoms rather than by replacing parts in sequence.
• Read hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Ownership of hand tools customary to the trade.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a daily route and changing priorities.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record and the ability to obtain DOT medical card.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and customer-site drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to job sites, yards, and staging areas to diagnose, repair, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems on mixture units and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
• Repair electrical systems, wiring, sensors, controls, and control panels on equipment.
• Service high-pressure water systems, including pumps, hoses, and valves.
• Maintain and repair support equipment, boilers, UV curing units, and trailers.
• Repair CCTV inspection equipment and coordinate with manufacturers on warranty repairs.
• Perform DOT annual inspections where qualified and document work in the maintenance system.
• Diagnose and repair chassis systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and tires.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed in the field.
