Job summary

Tractor and Equipment Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician for our Williston location. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar and allied equipment, with emphasis on electrical and hydraulic systems, and electronics using ET and SIS tools.

The candidate should have a HS diploma/GED with 3–4 years of field experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently or in a team. CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, ET and SIS programs.
• HS diploma/GED with 3-4 years industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL desired.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment for diagnosis; forklift operation.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication; able to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose Caterpillar and Allied equipment.
• Communicate diagnosis with supervisor in a timely manner.
• Determine repair sequence, control costs, and assess additional repair needs.
• Take ownership of the repair being performed.
• Troubleshoot and repair advanced electronics using ET.
• Remove and install components and parts.
• Service, maintain, adjust, and test mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Repair and maintain machines, engines, and equipment.
• Complete required reports promptly.
• Know and adhere to DOT rules and regulations.
