Job summary

Palmer Trucks is seeking a Service Mobile Technician to diagnose and repair heavy- and medium-duty trucks, buses, and tractors from a mobile unit. The role emphasizes safety, independent work, and timely repairs in secure environments.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, diagnostics, and using specialized tools. A valid driver’s license is required, with a FMCSA medical certificate preferred for the mobile position, and shifts may vary including evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer skills and repair order software.
• CDL is preferred but not required.
• Ability to maintain a safe driving record and operate vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform recommended routine maintenance procedures.
• Perform diagnostic tests for issues, failures and performance.
• Determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.
• Routinely use computerized equipment and specialized tooling.
• Completes assigned repairs and tasks in a timely and safe manner.
• Accurately records time, cause and correction on Repair Orders.
• Test components that may require driving trucks before and after repairs.
• Participate in and completes technical training and professional development.
• Other duties as assigned
