Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Mobile Health Program Driver to operate a 40-ft mobile health unit across Chicago and surrounding areas, ensuring safe, timely deployments and professional representation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Illinois driver’s license (CDL preferred), and at least 2 years’ experience driving large vehicles, plus the ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and safety inspections.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License is required.
  • CDL preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving large commercial vehicles.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Basic knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the 40-ft mobile health unit safely in urban settings.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections.
  • Clean and stock the mobile unit and coordinate maintenance.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and report issues.
  • Log mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance data.
  • Assist with site setup, patient escort, and route planning.
  • Represent the organization professionally in community settings.
