Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas is hiring a Mobile Unit Driver & Fleet Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain mobile medical units and fleet vehicles. The role supports mobile healthcare delivery by transporting units to sites and setting up for patient services.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, preventive maintenance, documentation, and assisting clinical staff with deployment and data entry. CDLs, DOT compliance, and HIPAA awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Class B CDL appropriate for vehicle classification
• Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical), if applicable

Responsibilities

• Safely operate fleet vehicles in compliance with DOT and company policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; ensure units are clean, fueled, stocked, and operational.
• Drive to service locations; setup units and ensure proper positioning and safe return to base.
• Coordinate routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs, and registrations; monitor fuel usage and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain fleet records, service histories, insurance documents, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with mobile unit deployment schedules and help patients with enrollment forms and data entry.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, mobile units, and equipment when not driving.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information; complete HIPAA training.
