Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas is seeking a Mobile Unit Driver & Fleet Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain mobile medical units and fleet vehicles, ensuring readiness and safety for daily patient services.

You will perform inspections, coordinate maintenance, assist clinical staff with deployments and enrollment, and handle basic vehicle repairs while adhering to HIPAA and DOT requirements. A Class B CDL and a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with appropriate vehicle classification.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) required if applicable.
• Transportation or safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate fleet vehicles in DOT and company policy compliance.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; keep units clean, fueled, stocked, and ready.
• Transport mobile units between service locations and ensure proper setup.
• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, repairs, and registrations; monitor fuel and records.
• Maintain fleet logs and compliance documentation.
• Assist staff with mobile unit deployments; help patients with enrollment forms.
• Perform routine maintenance on facilities and equipment when not driving.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete HIPAA training.
• Other duties to support transportation and operations.
