Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) seeks a skilled driver to operate the Mobile Medical Unit, ensuring vehicle safety and supporting clinic staff during scheduled sessions at the Main Hospital.

Requirements include a Texas CDL A/B, at least three years of driving or healthcare-related customer service experience, and CPR certification within three months. Medical terminology coursework or MA certification is preferred; on-call flexibility is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must have Texas Commercial Class A or B Driver License.
• Three years driving and/or healthcare-related customer service experience required.
• CPR training within 3 months of employment.
• Completion of course work toward an accredited medical terminology or medical assistant certification preferred.
• Medical Office Assistant experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip inspections of the Mobile Medical Unit and ensure vehicle cleanliness, fueling, and security.
• Drive the Mobile Medical Unit to clinic sites and maintain safe, efficient operations.
• Assist medical staff with laboratory equipment and ensure safety of personnel and patients.
• Maintain assigned reports and ensure accuracy of information for the unit.
• Utilize supplies and equipment appropriately and manage inventory as needed.
• Support patient services, ensure patient comfort, privacy, and confidentiality during visits.
• Assist with patient check-in, registration verification, and scheduling follow-ups and referrals.
• Capture charges and reconcile encounters to ensure timely, complete documentation.
