Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Mobile Service Technician in Michigan to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on John Deere equipment at customer sites. The role requires driving to various locations and documenting all work on service orders, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates bring 2–5 years of mechanical experience, a valid driver's license, and basic knowledge of automotive repair. Training opportunities and a collaborative shop environment are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal vocational or post-secondary training in diesel technology or equipment mechanics is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required and driving history must be suitable for company insurance.
• Basic knowledge of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding is desirable.
• 1 year of familiarity with field concepts and procedures is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
• Team player and adaptable in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology.
• Consults equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Performs scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts.
• Diagnoses and identifies malfunctions using computerized tools and equipment.
• Inspects, repairs, and replaces defective or worn parts (bearings, pistons, gears).
• Overhauls and tests major components (engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems).
• Disassembles and reassembles equipment and components.
• Maintains complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders and submits information on time.
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs for skill development.
• Travels to various customer locations to perform tasks.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area; follows safety rules.

Reports To: Field Service Manager

Essential Duties (including, but not limited to):

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology
• Consult equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings
• Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts
• Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment

• Dissemble and reassemble equipment and components

• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

• Travel to and from various customers' locations to perform assigned tasks
• All employees, other than remote sales staff, are expected to report to their designated work location and be ready to work at the start of their assigned shift.

Skills and qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Driving history suitable for coverage under company insurance
• Basic knowledge of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding is desired
• One year of familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures desired
• Formal vocational or post-secondary training in diesel technology or equipment mechanics desired
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with others
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
• Team player, willingness to and be adaptable in challenging situations

Working Conditions

Service Technicians usually work indoors and outdoors in a noisy shop environment. They often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.

Requirements

2 - 5 years of mechanical experience required

Familiarity with golf equipment preferred

Valid Driver's license required

Physical requirements

Must be able to complete various activities in the shop and at customers' locations that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying, bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting

Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time
