Job summary

Finch Turf Inc. is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to diagnose and repair John Deere golf and sports turf equipment on-site in Avon, MA. You will perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, overhauls, and tests of major components, and document work orders with billable time.

You’ll follow manuals, inspect parts, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Basic to intermediate mechanical experience is required, golf-industry familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read manuals and schematics

Equipment Mechanic - Golf & Sports Turf Equipment Position description:

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment (as well as allied equipment)
• Perform scheduled maintenance
• Overhaul and test major components
• Complete documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders
• Account for billable time and assigned work orders
• Consult equipment operating manuals, schematics and drawings
• Diagnose and identify malfunctions
• Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Other duties as assigned by Service Manager

Special Skills:

• Basic to intermediate mechanical experience working on equipment. Golf industry experience preferred.

Computer Skills:

• Computer proficient in performing work orders and parts look-up on company system
