Job summary

Southern States Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to travel within our Georgia region, maintaining and repairing propane, diesel, and electric forklifts and related equipment. You’ll start with your own van and tools, receive paid training, and grow through certifications.

The role requires mechanical know-how, physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs, and strong communication. A high school diploma is required, with tech coursework and ASE certificates a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical coursework is a plus.
• Experience with farm, construction, material handling, diesel equipment preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions; operate test equipment as needed.
• Operate forklifts for troubleshooting and QA checks after repairs.
• Disassemble/assemble engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and hydraulics.
• Service forklifts with water, fuels, oils, and lubricants; use solvents when needed.
• Align, adjust, repair, or replace worn components; use hand/power tools and precision instruments.
• Ensure work completion and customer satisfaction; stay current with TMHU training.
• Manage multiple customer work orders and ensure timely completion.
• Accurately quote services/parts and document work for customers.
