Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency in Bridgeton, NJ seeks a part-time driver to operate the mobile food pantry from the Bridgeton base to multiple sites across Cumberland and Gloucester Counties. You will assist with distribution, stocking, and daily paperwork, ensuring safe handling of food and timely deliveries.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, a NJ driver’s license, and a good driving record. This is a part-time position with hands-on community service responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to lift over 50 lbs.
• New Jersey Driver’s License
• Strong preference for commercial driving experience
• Maintain a good driving record (accepted by Tri‑County insurance carrier)
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Drive truck and enclosed mobile pantry trailer from base in Bridgeton to distribution sites on a regular schedule.
• Help with distributing food to clients at distribution sites.
• Complete daily travel logs and other required paperwork.
• As required, assist with stocking and/or unloading food products in the mobile pantry trailer.
• As needed, pick up food donations from local businesses or farms.
• Arrange for routine maintenance for vehicle assigned; seek approval from Supervisor before taking vehicle to the garage.
• Follow rules and regulations of the highway while driving all Gateway vehicles and while commuting to and from assigned work sites.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Job Function

Responsible for driving mobile food pantry from distribution base in Bridgeton to numerous distribution sites throughout Cumberland and Gloucester Counties. Help with distribution of food at mobile pantry sites and with preparation and stocking of pantry as needed.
