Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and tractor-trailers.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair truck and trailer systems and components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Assemble and disassemble engines, clean fuel tanks.
• Maintain hubs and axles, replacing or adjusting as needed.
• Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts, including tires.
• Repair brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Test systems and equipment for performance issues.
• Ensure trailers meet DOT safety standards.
• Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and communicate findings to management.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, interacting in person or via phone.

Qualifications

What You Need

• At least 1 year of trailer mechanic experience or related field (considering applicable skills).
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
• Basic reading and writing skills for customer repair orders.
• Basic computer skills for submitting repairs.
• Ability to work in a team and adhere to safety procedures.
• Knowledge of ABS, brakes, diagnostics, electronics, lights, hydraulics, suspensions.
• Own tools required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding experience.
• High School Diploma.

Pay Range

USD $27.00 - USD $35.00 per hour.
