Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and tractor trailers.
2. Provide excellent customer service.
3. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer systems and components.
4. Perform preventative maintenance on fleet trucks and trailers.
5. Assemble and disassemble vehicle engines and clean fuel tanks.
6. Maintain hubs and axles, replacing or adjusting as needed.
7. Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts, including tires.
8. Repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
9. Test systems and equipment for performance issues.
10. Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation safety standards.
11. Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and communicate findings to management.
12. Respond promptly to client inquiries, interacting in person or via phone.

Qualifications

What You Need

• 5+ years of trailer mechanic experience or related field preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic reading and writing skills for customer repair orders.
• Basic computer skills for submitting repairs and billing.
• Ability to work in a team and adhere to safety procedures.
• Knowledge of ABS, brakes, diagnostics, electronics, lights, hydraulics, suspensions.
• Own tools required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with welding.
• High School Diploma.
