Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, and sensors on fleets. This mobile role involves wiring, testing, and troubleshooting across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

Ideal candidates have automotive or electrical experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. ASE/I-CAR certifications are a plus; valid driver’s license required; travel to fleet locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
