Crafco, Inc. has an opening for a mobile, in-the-field Area Service Technician, to cover the SW Ohio - Cincinnati/Dayton area.

Seeking experienced mobile field mechanic to provide service technician support and equipment diagnostics in the SW Ohio territory. The Area Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing specialized pavement preservation equipment including company rental fleets and customer equipment in the field across their designated territory. Additionally, responsible for the routine and preventative maintenance of company rental fleet units, as needed. Area Service Technicians conduct diagnosis, repair work and are knowledgeable with all equipment product lines manufactured and/or re-sold by Crafco such as crack sealing melters, mastic melters, sealcoaters, and pavement routers. They consistently deliver a positive customer experience, anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, provide solutions, and execute high quality work consistently.

Specific Duties:

1. Diagnose, repair, and replace general equipment/vehicle parts and accessories while complying with safety and customer service policies, as well as municipal, state, and federal regulations.
2. Perform oil changes, electric and mechanical repairs on all equipment manufactured by Crafco, Inc.
3. Provide technical support for customers with purchased or potential equipment from Crafco, Inc.
4. Deliver parts, equipment, and materials to customers within the assigned territory, including manual unloading and possibly transporting equipment between locations, both in-state and out-of-state.
5. Maintain weekly records of sales, customer contacts, service, parts, and technical support activities.
6. Maintain regular contact with customers through visits and calls to meet their needs and company goals.
7. Support regional sales activities and collaborate with Territory Managers to increase product sales, engaging with government agencies and private sector clients.
8. Manage and support all Crafco products related to pavement maintenance, including parts and equipment.
9. Assist in service and sales activities under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager, including equipment delivery, technical support, and customer training.
10. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of sales and mechanics, perform equipment demonstrations, repairs, and travel as required.
11. Conduct training programs for customers on pavement maintenance techniques, equipment start-ups, and new products.
12. Visit customers to solve problems, perform machinery start-ups, and maintain Crafco's professional image.
13. Collect and suggest improvements for Crafco products based on field experience and customer feedback.
14. Assist with technical questions when in the office.
15. Complete and submit reports and documents timely, including customer notes, expense reports, service orders, and compliance documentation.
16. Coordinate demonstrations and training for Crafco products.
17. Ensure all demonstration and rental equipment is maintained in safe and operational condition.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED; technical certifications are a plus.
2. Minimum 5+ years of related work experience.
3. Completed Crafco's advanced Service Technician training or equivalent.
4. Strong mechanical skills and familiarity with tools and safety procedures.
5. Knowledge of all equipment lines manufactured or resold by Crafco.
6. Valid US Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
7. Ability to troubleshoot, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
8. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative.
9. Physical capacity to perform job functions, including lifting heavy items, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
10. High safety awareness and positive attitude.
11. Customer service orientation and teamwork skills.
12. Willingness to travel locally as needed.
