Job summary

Smith+Naphew is seeking a Mobile Field Logistics Associate to join the on-site Logistics Team in the Phoenix area. You will pick, pack and stage finished goods, maintain inventory accuracy, and coordinate instrument deliveries for surgeries within the territory.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, up to 75 lbs lifting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. A high school diploma is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in operations, distribution, logistics, inventory management, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean record.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Pick Finished Goods and pack for shipment, maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate surgery-related instrument and implant set deliveries within the territory.
  • Schedule and manage daily logistics and shipment schedules for cost-efficient delivery.
  • Support on-call and assist teammates as needed, including driving a company van.
  • Maintain a safe, clean warehouse environment and accurate daily shipping records.

The Mobile Field Logistics function is a critical component of Smith+Naphew's overall US Supply Chain strategy. We are the last mile and the difference between success and failure in thousands of hospitals and surgery centers each day, where our customers are helping their patients improve their lives. It can and will be stressful, but it is rewarding knowing that you played a critical part in the positive outcome for a patient whose life is being restored through our products. You are responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records of products as they flow through the territory. Accountability of products missing from sets is crucial to ensure proper billings. You will be responsible for case coverage, inventory management, and analyzing data.

Mobile Field Logistics Associate is an on-site member of the Logistics Team in a territory sales office(s). This role schedules, prepares, and ensures delivery of instruments and implant sets for surgery in the territory. This role is also responsible for coordinating surgery schedules, preparing, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of instruments and implant sets for surgery. Good working knowledge of company products, operating system, and procedures is critical.

What will you be doing?
  • Performs work duties accomplishing daily goals, including but not limited to, the picking of Finished Goods, packing of Finished Goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, sourcing cases, and overcommunication to the sales reps.
  • Process all required order entry as directed to maintain and manage scheduled surgery cases on a daily basis.
  • Perform all required and reporting to measure accuracy, utilization and validations while coordinating Mobile Logistics and shipment schedules daily to ensure most cost effective delivery methods are being utilized.
  • Multi-tasking and working under pressure are strengths needed. High stress at times during the day while juggling multiple task to meet deadlines.
  • Good housekeeping in all warehouse areas. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, and meeting daily shipping requirements.
  • Required to perform on call support as required.
  • Must be flexible with role and helping teammates when needed, driving a company van at times when needed and asked upon.
  • Must be able to understand and perform the functions and procedures pertaining to the efficient operation of warehousing.
  • Assist during physical inventories and/or field cycle counts ensuring the office inventory PI preparation is performed.
  • Perform daily/period freight activity reviews on all FedEx and courier usage to ensure costing is correct and most economical.
  • Must be willing to learn software systems such as Move Medical and SAP used on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to train and direct other personnel in their duties, both clerical and physical.

Education:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience in operations, distribution, logistics, inventory management, customer service, or a related field preferred.
Licenses/Certifications

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs

  • Be available for occasional on-call shift, work within a team, taking charge when needed, and be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
