Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Mobile Service Technician to maintain and repair light construction equipment at stores or customer sites within the Wilmington, NC area. The role includes preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs, with routine store visits and documentation of all work performed.

Candidates should have 1+ years in equipment servicing, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 1+ years servicing construction equipment (PM, troubleshooting, minor repairs).
• Light construction equipment maintenance knowledge (small engines, hydraulics).
• Ability to read/understand technical repair and parts manuals (mechanical/hydraulic/electrical).
• Experience and desire to provide superior customer service.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with inventory management.
• Handheld technology knowledge (smartphone, laptop, tablet).
• Ability to work with diverse teams and independently.
• Ability to operate in extreme outdoor conditions.
• Adaptability to weather, traffic, and unforeseen circumstances.
• Strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Trains store associates and customers on operation and safety procedures.
• Maintain DOT-related safety compliance and fleet inventory accuracy.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Document all work using the company platform.
• Assist with equipment deliveries and pickups as required.
