Job summary

Gerdau in Dallas, TX is seeking a skilled mobile equipment operator to handle loaders, forklifts, and related machinery in the Melt Shop and Refractory areas. You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor alloy levels, and collaborate with Melt Shop and AMT teams, while adhering to safety and PPE requirements and a rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

Basic computer and math skills.
Read, write and speak in English.
1-3 years mobile equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, and flatbed trucks to lift and transport materials.
Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Ensure loads stay within safe load capacities.
Maintain feed hoppers or bins at adequate levels.
Communicate with Melt Shop Team and AMT operations to monitor alloy levels.
Assist Melt Shop Operations and Refractory area with crusher operations and cleaning as needed.
Visually inspect materials for non-conformities.
