Job summary

Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator 1-2 to assist in the daily operation of the Area Maintenance Department on the Pinecrest grounds. No experience or training is required, and the role involves hands-on maintenance of grounds, hedges, and cemetery areas.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mobile equipment to care for Pinecrest grounds and cemetery areas.
• Operate multiple heavy-duty machines (lawn tractor, backhoe, grader blade, roller) for road and lawn work.
• Use bucket truck to clean gutters, prune trees, and remove debris; perform chain saw use.
• Carry out hedge trimming, fertilization, weed control, and vegetation removal.
• Maintain logs of vehicle use and restock supplies as needed; assist with cemetery setup.

Job description

The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking individual as a Mobile Equipment Operator 1-2 to assist in the daily operation of the duties of the Area Maintenance Department on the Pinecrest Supports and Services grounds.

No experience or training is required.

Job Duties:

• Operate and maintain various types of mobile equipment in order to properly maintain grounds of PSSC. Pinecrest has approximately 300 acres of lawn, trees, shrubs and flower beds that require maintenance.
• Operate 25hp lawn tractor cutting grass. Operate 62hp backhoe with front-end loader, digging and or/loading pit run, gravel, fill-dirt, top-soil, removal of tree stumps and /or trees, grading ditches, installing drain pipes maintaining grounds of this agency.
• Operate 53hp tractor with grader blade to scrape road shoulders, grade roads, and level lawns. Operate 40hp tractor with roller attachment to level cold mix for patching roads, parking lots, etc.
• Operate a 2.5 ton bucket truck to clean gutters, prune trees, and remove limbs and debris from roofs of buildings. Operate and maintain push mowers, weed eaters, and chain saws for the general upkeep and beatification of the grounds. Operate Miller ACDC Stick Welding Machine to fabricate metals.
• Trim hedges, trees, and shrubs. Fertilize lawns, trees, shrubs, etc. Apply ant or insect poison. Responsible for insect and disease control of shrubs and trees. Remove unwanted vegetation in pond. Spray herbicide on unwanted vegetation around homes and grounds. Dig graves and set-up for funerals at cemetery.
• General up-keep of cemetery. Plant shrubs, flowers, sod, trees, etc. Maintain vehicle operation and maintenance logs. Complete personal daily task records. Notify supervisor to restock supplies used (oil, ant poison, etc.) Removal of trash from grounds.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, and Detail to Special Duty or Job Appointment

Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Pass Days: Saturday and Sunday

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Mobile Equipment Operator 1 or 2 depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Compensation:

MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 1: $16.06 hour - $28.90 hour

MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 2: $17.18 hour - $30.92 hour
