Job summary

University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator 1 to maintain areas and beautify the campus, including upkeep of mobile equipment and daily tasks in the Physical Plant. Appointment types include Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. No prior experience or training is required.

This role involves operating a variety of grounds maintenance equipment and supporting campus facilities operations in a reliable, safety-conscious manner.

• operates a variety of grounds maintenance equipment (e.g. tractors, bush hogs, mowing equipment).
• operates dump trucks for hauling off items (e.g. trash, debris) to remove unwanted items from facilities in accordance with guidelines.
• Operates forklifts with lifting capacity over 10,000 lbs.
• Provides guidance to and oversees work of lower graded operators and laborers, as required.
• other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

The Mobile Equipment Operator 1 is responsible for the maintenance in employees areas. Performing other duties to provide the beautification of the campus, while maintaining employee’s mobile equipment and other daily equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• operates a variety of grounds maintenance equipment (e.g. tractors (bush hogs), gang mowers (up to eight feet across), riding mowers, push mowers, etc.,)
• operates dump trucks for hauling off a variety of items (e.g. trash, debris, aggregates, etc.) for removing unwanted items from facilities compliance with established guidelines.
• Operates forklifts with lifting capacity over 10,000 lbs.
• Provides guidance to and oversees work of lower graded operators and laborers, as required.
• other duties as assigned.
