Interfor is hiring a Mobile Equipment Mechanic in Perry, Georgia to maintain and repair mobile and rolling stock equipment supporting our mill operations.

The role offers an hourly wage range of $23.17 to $29.35, depending on skill and experience, plus comprehensive benefits including health plans and 401(k).

Required: 2+ years of mechanic experience, basic electrical aptitude, high school diploma; manufacturing/warehouse experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of mobile equipment mechanic experience.
• Basic electrical aptitude.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.
• Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mobile and rolling stock equipment, including preventive maintenance.
• Complete work orders with accurate documentation of parts and time.
• Inspect tires, fluids, belts, and related components; replace or repair as needed.
• Requisition and replace parts in a timely, accurate manner.
• Plan and manage daily work with minimal supervision.
• Contain and clean spills using Oil Dry and address leaks promptly.
• Communicate equipment status and repair needs to the Supervisor.
• Audit daily pre-shift inspection sheets from equipment operators.
• Use CMMS to track work orders and maintenance activities.
• Perform additional duties to support mill operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area after each task.

As aMobile Equipment Mechanic in Perry, Georgia, you'll help keep our operations running safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing the mobile and rolling stock equipment that supports our mill operations. The pay range for this position is $23.17 per hour up to $29.35 per hour depending on skill level and experience.

What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance and repairs on all mobile and rolling stock equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation, including scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Complete work orders accurately, documenting all work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Inspect tires, fluid levels, belts, and related components, replacing or repairing as needed.
• Requisition and replacement of parts accurately and in a timely manner.
• Plan and manage daily work effectively, demonstrating the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Contain and clean spills using Oil Dry, ensuring leaks are addressed promptly and safely.
• Communicate equipment status and repair needs to the Supervisor and Superintendent.
• Audit daily pre-shift inspection sheets completed by equipment operators.
• Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and maintenance activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support continuous mill operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work areas after each task.

What You’ll Bring

• Two or more years of mobile equipment mechanic experience.
• Basic electrical aptitude.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling throughout the workday.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
• Work safely around moving equipment, machinery, and other industrial conditions.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
