Qualifications

Job Summary

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic plays an important role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of mobile mining equipment, service trucks, and passenger trucks to ensure safe & reliable operation. Equipment to include loaders, dozers, excavators, scrapers, backhoes, over-the-road company vehicles, and support equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Make routine inspections, document inspections and repairs in our CMMS program.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance. Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
  • Ability to complete diagnostics, troubleshoot and complete repairs to all types of heavy equipment including hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, and electrical systems. (Continuous dealer training provided).
  • Run tests after repairs or maintenance to ensure equipment is in good, safe working order before returning to duty.
  • Prioritize and schedule repairs and maintenance to reduce or eliminate equipment downtime.
  • Fabricate, modify, and install new/used equipment and replacement parts using torch, welders, plasma cutters, etc.
  • Perform duties in accordance with all safety rules and MSHA/OSHA guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification And Experience

  • Three+ years of experience with diesel trucks and various heavy equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Knowledge and experience in overhauling diesel engines, brake service and repair, electrical troubleshooting, and proper equipment servicing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Problem-solving skills to address mechanical and electrical issues independently in a team environment.
  • Experience with OEM diagnostic software for troubleshooting.

Work Environment

  • Work performed outdoors and indoors, enduring various weather conditions.
  • Operate various types of heavy equipment and machinery.

Physical Capabilities

  • Walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
