- Diagnose and repair defective mobile, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and service compressors and other process equipment.
- Perform inspections, installations, and alignments of equipment, and troubleshoot any equipment failures.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the Process Code System and Internal Combustion System.
- Repair, replace, and fabricate parts for worn items as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment using knowledge of vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography.
- Read machine drawings, blueprints, pipe diagrams, and flow sheets.
- Lubricate and clean parts.
- Perform welding repairs as needed using arc, wire, tig, and gas welds.
- Use cutting torches to cut and lay out basic designs.
- Initiate purchase orders for parts.
- Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage.

Additional Responsibilities
- Operate mobile equipment to lift and transport materials, including loaders, cranes, man-lifts, brick-lift, and forklifts.
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
- Follow all PPE requirements and safety rules and guidelines for all tasks being performed.
- Assist in training of coworkers as needed.
- Maintain communication with coworkers through two-way radio and hand signals.
- Demonstrate ability and willingness to work as part of a self-directed team with limited supervision.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Exhibit engagement in GBS tools and methodology.
- Have basic computer skills, specifically, SAP experience.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Understanding of shop mathematics with the use of drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and precision measuring instruments.
- Intermediate knowledge of mobile equipment maintenance and repair in an industrial setting.
- AAS in industrial maintenance and maintenance reliability certifications are preferred.
- Diesel Mechanic certification is preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience working in an industrial environment with routine maintenance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, and push and pull objects.
- Ability to reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged sitting.
- Lift up to 70 lbs.
- Operate hand controls with both hands and foot pedals with both feet.
- Perform sustained overhead reaching.
- Work in extreme temperatures up to 160°F.
- Work in cramped quarters and at heights.
- Work rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
- Tolerate noise levels up to 120 decibels.
