About The Role
The role owns user-facing mobile experiences for a consumer-scale product — building and shipping native iOS and Android features used by millions of users daily, with a focus on performance, reliability, and offline-first behavior.
You will work closely with product designers, backend engineers, and QA to ship features on a fast release cadence, and you will have real influence over mobile architecture, tooling, and platform decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship production features in Swift/Kotlin (or Kotlin Multiplatform/React Native where appropriate) across iOS and Android codebases
- Own features end-to-end: scoping, API contracts with backend teams, implementation, testing, rollout, and post-launch monitoring
- Optimize app performance — startup time, render performance, memory footprint, and battery usage — using profilers and APM tooling (Firebase Performance, Sentry)
- Build and maintain modular, testable architecture with strong unit and UI test coverage (XCTest, Espresso/JUnit)
- Instrument analytics and crash reporting (Amplitude, Firebase, Crashlytics) and drive down crash rates and ANRs to best-in-class levels
- Participate in code reviews, feature RFCs, and weekly release trains; contribute to shared mobile platform tooling and CI/CD (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions)
- Mentor mid-level engineers and help set mobile engineering standards across the team
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of mobile engineering experience shipping consumer apps to the App Store and/or Google Play at scale
- Deep fluency in Swift and/or Kotlin, with strong command of UIKit, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, or equivalent modern UI frameworks
- Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs, handling auth, caching, and offline sync patterns in mobile clients
- Track record of owning releases: App Store/Play Store submission processes, feature flags, staged rollouts, and crash-rate management
- Strong debugging and profiling skills across concurrency (async/await, coroutines), memory management, and networking
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, or Flutter; mobile CI/CD infrastructure ownership; contributions to open-source mobile libraries
