Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled physician to manage emergency ECMO therapy for patients in cardiac arrest. This critical role involves initiating ECMO care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing ongoing patient management.

The successful candidate will hold a Doctor of Medicine, have significant experience in cardiology or critical care, and will be expected to obtain ECMO certification. Fairview offers a comprehensive benefits package and values pay equity.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in cardiology or critical care.
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota board of Medical Practice Licensure.
• MMRC for ECMO certification from CRM training program within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine ECPR criteria for refractory cardiac arrest.
• Perform ultrasound or X-ray-guided cannulation for ECMO.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure ECPR protocol adherence.
• Provide ongoing patient care during transport and transition.
• Manage patients with multi-system issues, including neurologic injury.
