Job summary

Hawthorne-Health is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to travel to patient homes and perform echocardiograms on adults and children. You will transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment, explain procedures to patients, and obtain cooperation in diverse settings.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI RDCS or equivalent RCS, AE certification, 3+ years of experience, and BLS. Travel locally/regionally with reliable internet access and strong bedside manner is essential.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification required.
• AE certification required; PE certification not required but a plus.
• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in adult and pediatric patients.
• BLS certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally/regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech-savvy and self-sufficient with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in field settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic field-based environments.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient homes to conduct visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participants.
• Perform echocardiograms per protocol on adult and pediatric patients.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
