Job summary

Hawthorne-Health is seeking a skilled Registered Cardiac Sonographer to travel to patient homes and perform echocardiograms on both adult and pediatric patients. You will set up portable ultrasound equipment, explain procedures to participants, and obtain informed cooperation in non-clinical settings.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient comfort, following imaging guidelines, labeling images for cardiology review, and completing a preliminary report with measurements and comments.

Qualifications

• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification.
• AE (Adult Echo) certification required; PE a plus but not required.
• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in both adult and pediatric settings.
• BLS certification.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally/regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech-savvy with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in field-based environments.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient homes to conduct visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant.
• Perform echocardiograms per protocol on adult and pediatric patients.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
