The Mobile Director of Nursing position in Scranton, PA, supports skilled nursing facilities across the Scranton market, stepping in as acting clinical leader during DON vacancies and transitions.

Base pay ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, with travel expenses covered, lodging arranged, and a comprehensive benefits package. The role requires an active PA RN license and at least 2 years’ DON experience, with willingness to travel and lead teams across facilities.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Pennsylvania RN license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of DON experience in a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience preparing for and navigating federal/state regulatory surveys.
• Proven ability to stabilize nursing departments during leadership transitions.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations at assigned SNFs.
• Stabilize nursing departments during DON vacancies and leadership transitions.
• Lead facility turnaround initiatives and improve clinical operations.
• Prepare facilities for federal and PA state regulatory surveys.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state SNF regulations.
• Supervise, coach, and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff.
• Monitor clinical performance and implement corrective actions.
• Build trust quickly when entering unfamiliar facilities.
• Partner with Administrators and interdisciplinary teams to reach goals.
• Support quality improvement initiatives for better clinical outcomes.
• Step into unit manager or other leadership roles when needed.
• Travel consistently throughout the Scranton market, including overnights.
