The Food Depot in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a Mobile Distribution Coordinator Non-Exempt to manage inventory and assist with loading and unloading products for Food Mobiles FM1, FM2, FM3, and MFPs. The role includes stocking, staging, recording inventory movements, and following all food safety guidelines.

You will also support setup and breakdown of distribution sites, coordinate deliveries, and serve as backup driver when needed, while maintaining clean, organized warehouses and vehicles.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of related experience preferred.

JOB TITLE: Mobile Distribution Coordinator Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Director of Distribution & Transportation

SUPERVISES: None SALARY RANGE: $21.00 - $26.00/Hour DOE

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for preparing and assisting with inventory management, as well as loading and unloading products—primarily for Food Mobiles FM1, FM2, FM3, and MFPs. Duties include stocking, staging, and organizing products for distribution, accurately recording inventory movement, and following all food safety guidelines. This role also involves keeping vehicles and work areas clean and organized, assisting with product ordering, setting up and breaking down Food Mobile sites, and providing support to clients during distributions. The position will also serve as a backup driver and complete deliveries as needed.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Transport, prepare, and assist with the loading and unloading of products—primarily for Food Mobiles FM1 and FM2—while following all applicable policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Support Mobile Distribution Specialist & Mobile Transportation Specialist by staging, organizing, and documenting incoming and outgoing products accurately; follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of Food Mobile distribution sites, providing support to both staff and clients.
  • Perform driving duties and complete scheduled deliveries, maintaining compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and proper vehicle operation.
  • Deliver to and pick up from partner agencies or donors as needed within the service area.
  • Ensure outgoing deliveries are complete and correct, including frozen and perishable items aligned with agency needs.
  • Lead the completion of all delivery-related paperwork and maintain accurate logs.
  • Coordinate early morning delivery schedules, ensuring adequate route coverage and shift planning with the Director of Distribution.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance coordination, including leases, rentals, and safety checks; ensure drivers remain compliant with log requirements and safety standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and scales; assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
  • Supervise volunteers during distribution activities and support team operations when additional coverage is needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with donors, partner agencies, and volunteers to support smooth communication and ongoing collaboration.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable goods in designated refrigerated and freezer spaces, removing outdated products
  • as needed.
  • Complete required forms, reports, and logs related to inventory, distribution, and transportation in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical Environment
  • Work is performed in vehicles, warehouse environments, and food distribution settings, including Food Mobile trailers and box trucks.
  • Requires regular driving and travel throughout the service area and state, with occasional overnight or out-of-state travel possible.
  • Must safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, and other equipment.
  • Must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and safely load and unload products.
  • Work may involve extreme hot or cold temperatures, loud noise, and moving equipment.
  • Work hours and start/end times may vary based on delivery schedules and operational needs.
