Job summary

Focus: HOPE is seeking a Distribution Technician to support the Food Center/Central Warehouse. You will unload and load trucks, move stock with a Hi-lo, stock distribution areas, and assemble packed food boxes for pickup.

You will work under supervision, help volunteers, and ensure safe, efficient handling of materials. Prior warehouse experience and a Hi-lo certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate basic warehouse equipment.
• Hoist/Hi-lo driving certification preferred or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
• Drive Hi-lo to move stock between storage and distribution areas.
• Stock and replenish distribution areas as needed.
• Build and stage packed food boxes at pickup areas.
• Assist in building maintenance and supporting volunteers.

Job Title: Distribution Technician
Department: Focus: HOPE Food
Reports To: Manager Food Program
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

General Statement of Duties:

Performs duties under the supervision of the Manage/Supervisor of the Food Center/Central Warehouse. Responsible for unloading and loading trucks, cutting, and moving stock. Decisions are made within the limits of established practices, policies, and procedures with a supervisor available to handle unusual situations. Work with volunteers to provide direction and support during volunteer shifts.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload freight from semi-trailers/trucks.
• Drive Hi-lo to move stock from storage to distribution area.
• Stock and replenish distribution area as needed.
• Build and stage packed food boxes at pick up areas.
• Assist in maintenance of building and grounds.
• Support and direct volunteers on stock replenishment, proper packing and staging procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Assist participants with loading food boxes vehicles.
