Job summary

Progressive Quality Care is seeking a dynamic RN with DON experience to lead nursing across multiple long‑term care facilities in Ohio. The Mobile Director of Nursing will serve as DON of record on a temporary basis, traveling between sites while upholding company policies and standards.

The ideal candidate has a BSN, at least 3 years as a Director of Nursing in long‑term care, and strong CMS/OBRA knowledge. Travel up to 80% is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of Director of Nursing experience in long-term care.
• Multi-site or regional leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS, OBRA, and related regulations.
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in varied facility environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical oversight and audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead and support DONs and nursing staff across facilities.
• Develop and monitor care plans, MDS schedules, and QA initiatives.
• Ensure medication administration and treatment protocols are followed.
• Facilitate regional nursing leadership meetings and training.
• Coordinate staffing assessments and scheduling optimization.
• Support budget planning and resource allocation for nursing departments.

We are looking for a dynamic RN, who is experienced as a Director of Nursing who loves the D.O.N. role and is excited to take on new challenges in different facilities! Must be willing to travel to our facilities within in Ohio as well as be the DON of record, with the duties as such, on a temporary basis.

This is considered as a Mobile (AKA Interim) Director of Nursing position BUT with going to ONLY facilities within our company! So, same company policies, standards and regional support staff!

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical audits and mock surveys to ensure regulatory compliance
• Analyze Quality Measures and Incident Reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions
• Support facilities in developing and executing care plans and MDS schedules
• Monitor medication administration and treatment protocols for consistency and safety
• Assist facility DONs and nursing staff with training and leadership development
• Facilitate regional nursing leadership meetings and calls
• Provide interim DON coverage during vacancies or transitions
• Assist with staffing assessments and scheduling optimization
• Support budget planning and resource allocation for nursing departments
• Ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures across sites
• Participate in care conferences and family meetings as needed
• Promote resident rights and satisfaction through quality initiatives
• Serve as a liaison between corporate clinical leadership and facility teams
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and external partners
• Maintain strong relationships with discharge planners and referral sources
