Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Chicago is seeking a Union Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain client vehicles and fleets at client locations and outside the shop. You will perform cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts as required, with work sometimes in the main shop when mobile maintenance isn't available.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, trade school graduation, 3–4 years of mechanical experience, and a valid driver’s license with a DMV-insurable record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of trade school.
• 3–4 years mechanical experience.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with driving record acceptable to the insurer.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties at customer locations and outside of the company facility.
• Repair and maintain customer vehicles, including DOT inspections, lube and oil changes, minor adjustments and repairs on tractors, trailers and trucks.
• Maintain Mobile Department vehicles, including cleaning and mechanical upkeep.
• Maintain truck inventory.
• Record necessary information on vehicles being repaired and complete inspection forms.
• When mobile maintenance is not available, perform duties in the main shop.
