Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company is hiring a Mobile Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy‑duty mechanical repair with on‑the‑job training toward Service Journeyman status. The job is based at 7007 Sandown Road, Denver, CO and requires hands‑on experience in diesel systems, electrical components, and general maintenance.

The role emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and collaboration with the Shop Foreman.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands‑on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on the following items with minimal supervision: engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
