Job summary

Matthews Motors Company is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks in the field, delivering uptime for customers with a fully stocked service truck and strong company support.

You will perform on-site diagnostics, handle breakdowns and service calls, and work on engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems. This role offers independence with team backing and opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.
• Valid driver's license.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Great diagnostic skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 75+ pounds.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good organization skills.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Handle breakdowns, service calls, and scheduled work at customer locations.
• Work on engines, brakes, suspension, electrical, emissions systems, and more.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers to complete jobs efficiently.
• Document work accurately via our service system
